Mrs Ladbrooke started the RDA group at LongAcre Farm Coity, over 40 years ago. With only three of her own childrens ponies she helped six disabled children to learn to ride.
In 1987 there was a addition of a covered riding area at the Farm.
Eventually she had about seventy children in all, from seven schools in the area. She had eight ponies, some owned by herself, some on loan.
There were twenty helpers who assisted the children on the two riding days of the week.
On Wednesday evenings there was a special group who were helped by enthusiastic students who, during the day, were studying at school and college and could not help with the day sessions.
